What is Vertigo?

Vertigo is a broad term that covers a vast majority of dizziness and balance complaints. It is not until you suffer from it that you get to understand that Vertigo has many meanings and conditions. You begin to appreciate the fragile nature of our balancing system – something that non sufferer’s take for granted every day. It can be a debilitating disorder; you can suffer severely mentally and physically, as I’ve experienced firsthand.
Over the long duration of my disorder, I was tentatively diagnosed with Vertigo, Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV), Meniere’s Disease, Vestibular Neuritis, Vestibular Labyrinthitis or Mal de Debarquement (MdDS). In the end it didn’t really matter what it was – all I knew was I needed to find a way to improve my quality of life.
For many years I have searched high and low on the internet, been part of forums, social media discussions, seen numerous health professionals and read many documents. In this personal account I will share the discoveries that have helped me reduce my symptoms and have improved my quality of life.

What my 16-page in-depth personal account contains:

It won’t happen overnight, but hopefully if you implement some of the changes that helped me, you may have an opportunity to increase your quality of life and start enjoying those everyday activities once again.
